New International Student Immigration Routes Open Early

The pandemic has changed several plans and even forced many students to change their future plans of study. The UK government has decided to open the routes of new international immigration at earliest.

 

These new routes are specifically designed for international students to apply for visas and hence, will open early. This shows the firmness of the government’s commitment to delivering and introducing a new points-based immigration system. The main reason for this new introduction is due to International students being a major part of the government’s agenda to unleash and display the UK’s potential. It is also because international students make an important contribution- economically, academically, and financially.

 

As known, the coronavirus might have forced the students are either confused or are choosing to defer the entry onto other courses until the summer of 2021. Apart from this, the introduction of these new routes means that the students will be able to benefit from the new streamlined process whilst still giving sponsors time to adapt after their autumn intake”.

 

The introduction of these new routes and their opening at an earlier date shows that the UK is ready to welcome talented and brightest students from across the globe. The new point immigration system enables many globally renowned schools, colleges, universities, and institutions to accept talented students from all over the world. Moreover, the Minister for Future Borders and Immigration Kevin Foster said, “Now we have left the EU, we are free to unleash this country’s full potential and implement the changes we need to restore trust in the immigration system and attract talent to drive our economy forward. Launching the Student route early sends a clear message to the world we want the best and brightest to come to the UK to study at our globally renowned education institutions”.

 

Apart from this, to understand the UK’s new point immigration the system, the Cardiff University’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Colin Riordan said: “Given the continuing uncertainties arising from the global pandemic, it’s even more important than the UK is seen as open and welcoming so we can retain our hard-won status as a global leader in higher education, research and innovation. That’s why these changes are welcome. The new arrangements will send a clear message that we have the support of our government to welcome talented students from across the world to come and study with us”.

 

Another good news is that there is no limit or specific number of international students who can get accepted.

 

The UK government is said to launch the Graduate route in the summer of 2021 that enables graduates t work at any skill level, and to switch into work routes if they find a suitable job. The Student route and The child student route will open on 5 October 2020 to the best international students from across the globe. Students can apply the new routes from October 5, 2020.
