Canada recently hosted the first express entry draw after the onset of a pandemic. This came as a piece of good news for the federal skilled workers as due to the pandemic, Canada had stopped holding draws for the FSWP and FTP.

WHAT IS ENTRY EXPRESS DRAW?

Now, these applicants are judged on the basis of their CRS scores. The highest scorer is sent an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
However, only those people can apply who belong to any of the criteria below:

But due to the coronavirus restrictions, these draws were limited to people coming under the Canadian experience class and provincial nominee program.
This caused a great disappointment for the people belonging to the FSWP and FSTP applicants who were earlier eligible for getting the invitations.
But now it is time for celebration as the government held its first entry express draw for the FSWP and FSTP candidates recently.

WHY RESUMING FSWP DRAWS WAS NECESSARY?
The express entry excluded the FSWP and FSTP candidates as they felt that the people coming under these criteria might have been located outside Canada. But this is a baseless reason, as we cannot determine a person’s locality on the basis of which program he comes under.
Thus people from other criteria who were living oversees continued to get ITA but the people coming under FSWP and FSTP were excluded from these benefits. This raised a sense of unfairness.
Secondly, the whole process for allotting permanent residence is over 6 months. This gives ample time for any person coming under these criteria to travel and submit their forms once Canada resumed its travel restrictions
Now, the government states that even if any of the successful applicants from the above categories face any problems in the upcoming months, it would try accommodating as many candidates as it can.
Looking at the above valid points, there was no such major reason for excluding the people under these criteria from the draws.
Moreover, these candidates offer the most number of contributors to the economy of Canada, thus Canada had restricted the economic growth to some parameters by excluding these immigrants from getting ITA.
But this phase has been over now as the FSWP and FSTP candidates have started taking part in the entry express. So why do we need to celebrate this new draw?
WHY SHOULD WE CELEBRATE THE NEW DRAW?
The recent draw proves that the Canadian government is ready to treat all the programs equally and will thus be providing an opportunity to all the classes for getting permanent residence in Canada.
Thus, now the FSWP candidates can actually enter the draw as soon as they get eligible for it without giving it a second thought. It is a sign of relief amidst this pandemic.
The CEC candidates might think that now it would be a little more difficult for them to procure an invitation, however, they should not forget that they still have a better chance in the draw because of their experience in Canada.
This draw clearly directed towards the signs of fairness shown by the Canadian government. And also towards the signs that show, in the coming months Canada is planning to bring everything to a level of normalcy.
This return to the normal system of express entry is a ray of hope for the people living in a dilemma about their Canadian permanent residence.
